crime

Posted in: Ballymeade

I agree a neighborhood watch is a good idea.  Unfortunately crime is everywhere.  When we lived in the city a few years ago I was punched in the face and knocked down in our condo parking lot.  I was only taking out the trash!  That was supposed to be one of the nicer areas in Trolley Square.  This is a nice area and I am willing to do my part to participate in a neighborhood watch program.  If nothing has been started I am willing to make the necessary contacts to get the ball rolling.  I am all for keeping our neighborhood safe!

Is the board of directors totally delusional or just totally unaware of what is going on around them?  I had visitors for 48 hours and in that time their car was broken into and their GPS stolen.  We reported to the police and they didn’t come by, hardly took enough info from us to file a report.  The streetlamp at the park was intentionally broken this summer.  There were beer bottles and other trash all over the playground many, many times over the summer.  People go flying down the streets, regardless of the speed limit or children playing in the area.  Dogs run loose everywhere and noise regulations might as well just not even exist. I am embarrassed to have overnight guests because i know they will be woken at the break of dawn (or earlier) by the German Sheppard on Shrewsbury.

Not aware of any crime in our development?  Get real!

Oh, and not to mention that the bank 2 blocks down from us inside Safeway was robbed at gunpoint a few months ago and the GameStop catty corner from our development was robbed WITH A MACHETE over the summer.

Hope you can sleep well tonight! I won't be!

thank you for your post.  sorry to hear of the car being broken into. mine has been several times.   this is going to be an ongoing problem.  we need to have a community watch or some regular random patrolling of the neighborhood...i've really noticed how interested proactive our association is being to help with this problem.... NOT REALLY.  i suggest this: lets wait until something really horrible happens to one of us or our children in the neighborhood before we decide to be proactive at keeping ourselves safe.  COME ON BOARD!!!
